Following a healthy diet, not drinking too much alcohol, exercising regularly and getting lots of sleep will help to keep your skin looking young and fresh, with a dewy glow – but there’s something you may not have considered before in your quest to keep wrinkles at bay for as long as possible.

We all know that getting a good night’s sleep on a regular basis is absolutely key, as this is when our bodies repair themselves… they don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing, after all, and you should aim to get between seven and nine hours of quality rest each night.

But if you’ve started noticing a few wrinkles here and there, you might want to invest in a silk pillow case to see if this makes a difference to your skin, as the fabric is so soft and silky, it’s incredibly kind to your skin.

Cotton pillow cases or other similar fabrics can be a little tough on your skin and as you move around in the night, you may be creasing your face without knowing it, which silk can really help prevent.

Other top tips to help keep wrinkles at bay for as long as possible include sleeping on your back, using a rich moisturising night cream with hyaluronic acid to really plump and firm your skin, and avoiding sleeping with your hands pressed up against your face.

You should be looking after your skin during the day as well, of course, and the best way of going about this is eating healthily, drinking plenty of water and wearing SPF, as the sun is one of the worst culprits when it comes to wrinkles and skin damage.
